Campofranco (Caltanissetta Province) is 58 km from Caltanissetta, alt 350 m, south of Rocca Barone near the confluence of the rivers Platani and Gallo d'Oro, area 36.06 sq km, pop. 4,106, post-code 93010, tel. 0934. Economy: agriculture (wheat, citrus fruit); minor industries (chalk quarries, bitumen, cement).

Founded in 1573 by Giovanni del Campo, it became an autonomous commune in 1812.

Of interest: Cappella di Santa Maria dell'Itria (1573), belonging to the Baronial Palace.
