San Biagio Platani (Agrigento Province) is 42 km. from Agrigento, alt. 416 m., in the mid-valley of the River Platani, area 42.4 sq. km., pop. over 4100, post-code 92020, tel. 0922. Economy: traditional agriculture.

The town was founded by Giovanni Battista Gerardi in 1648.

The town has a regular layout, with two intersecting main streets, Viale della Vittoria and Corso Umberto.

In Easter week, this town is decorated with high, brightly colored arches over the streets. They are very impressive!
