Tremestieri Etneo (Catania Province) is 9 km from Catania, alt. 400 m, southern slopes of Mt. Etna, area 6.5 sq km, and has a population of over 17,800. The post-code is 95030, tel. 095. Economy: agriculture, handicraft (lace and embroidery).

This was originally "tri musteri" (three mills), a possession of the city of Catania. It was acquired in 1647 by Giannandrea Massa of Genoa, who became its Duke, then by the Rizzari family. It has grown in recent years to an extension of the city of Catania.

The Festa of Madonna della Pace is celebrated here on the First Sunday after Easter.
