Aci Catena (Catania Province) is a town on the southeastern face of Mt. Etna (alt. 170 m), 14 km from Catania, 8.5 sq km. Its population is just over 22,600, post-code 95022, tel. 095. Agricultural economy.

The town spread around the palazzo of the Riggio family, Princes of Campofiorito, and expanded with the arrival of inhabitants of nearby destroyed towns after the earthquake in 1693. It was called Scarpi until 1826.

On August 15 is the Festa of Maria Santissima della Catena.
