These links are great, but start by interviewing your family to learn about them and the brothers and sisters of your parents and grandparents so you can find the right family in the census and other records.
All online genealogies need careful inspection. Some folks do wonderful research with citations to sources so you can locate the record, and even post scanned images of the record for you to see. Others grab the first person with the right name, even if the family members are wrong and the place is wrong. Then they insert this junk into perfectly good trees. Just be careful to check the sources before accepting any tree (or branch) as yours.
