Altavilla Milicia (Palermo Province) is 24 km. from Palermo, alt. 73 m., not far from the Tyrrhenian coast, east of Capo Zafferano, area 23.8 sq. km., pop. over 5100, post-code 90010, tel. 091. Economy: agriculture, tourism.

Nearby is the historic ruin of Chiesa di San Michele, built by the Hauteville (Altavilla) family whose name was given to the town.

Festa of Madonna of Milicia is celebrated in Altavilla Milicia on the second Sunday in September.
