Bompensiere (Caltanissetta Province) is 39 km from Caltanissetta, alt. 282 m, in hill country between the peaks of Marrobio (379 m) and Pizzo (357 m), area 19.7 sq km, pop. 704, post-code 93010, tel. 934. Agricultural economy: cereals, vegetables, peanuts, almonds, grapes and pears.
Founded by Ottavio Lanza e Barresi in 1630. Created an autonomous commune in 1817, part of Montedoro after 1868, and in 1911, again autonomous.
