Collesano (Palermo Province) is 69 km. from Palermo, alt. 468 m., in the northern Madonie, on the northwestern slopes of Poggio Grotta del Signore, area 108.4 sq. km., pop. over 4,600, post-code 90016, tel . 0921. Agricultural economy.
The town developed in the 12th century around the Norman castle, some ruins of which can still be seen. It was a fief of the Ventimiglias, the Moncadas and the Alvarez family.
Of interest is the town hall, housed in the former Dominican Convent (16th century).
