Delia (
Caltanissetta Province) is 24 km from
Caltanissetta, alt. 420 m, on the slopes of Mt. Commune, near the river of the same name (also known as Gibbesi), area 12.3 sq km, pop. 4,668, post-code 93010, tel. 0922. Economy: agriculture (cereals, almonds, olives) and the processing of agricultural produce.
Founded in 1622 by Guiseppe Lucchesi, it later belonged to the Ortolanis and Gravinas, with the title of Marquisate.
Its development was promoted by the nearby sulphur mines, now inactive.
