Entella (Palermo Province) is northwest of Contessa Entellina. There are the ruins of an ancient city, possibly the Elymian Entella.
We know that this city existed until 1224, when the Emperor Fredireick II destroyed it.
A series of somewheat unsystematic excavations have brought to light Hellenistic/Roman objects and fragments.
