Floridia (Siracusa Province) is 13 km from Siracusa, alt. 111m, on the east face of the Hyblaean Mountains, area 26.2 sq km, pop. 20,346, post-code 96014, tel. 0931. Economy: Agriculture, cattle breeding, food and cement industries.
Founded in 1628 by Baron Lucio Bonanno Colonna on the site of a medieval hamlet, it subsequently belongs with its fief to the Grifeos, Princes of Partanna.
