Gratteri (Palermo Province) is 75 km. from Palermo, alt. 657 m., in the northern Madonie woods, on the slopes of Monte Dipilo, area 38.5 sq. km., pop. over 1,200, post-code 90010, tel. 0921. Economy: agriculture, cattle farming, cheese.
Possibly of Arab origin, it became a fief of the Counts of Petralia, of Guglielmo di Taburia and of the Ventimiglias.
