Letojanni (Messina Province) is 44 km from Messina, alt. 5 m, on the Ionian coast, by the mouth of the River Letojanni, area 6.8 sq km, pop. 2,414, post-code 98037, tel. 0942. Agricultural economy.
Originally it was a ward in the commune of Gallodoro; it spread during the last century until it reached administrative equality with Gallodoro in 1888, achieving full autonomy in 1952.
Leaving the town by the state road we come to the pretty beach of Mazzaro, a bathing resort of great tourist interest, with Isola Bella just off it, and Taormina behind it.
