Longi (Messina Province) is 129 m from Messina, alt. 616 m, in the northern Nebrodi, on the northeast slopes of the Rocche del Crasto group, a nature reserve, near the River Fitalia, area 42.1 sq km, pop. 1,755, post-code 98070, tel. 0941. Economy: agriculture and handicraft.
The village developed in the Middle Ages. A fief of the Lancias from the 13th century until 1659, it then belonged to Silvestro di Napoli.
In the east Nebrodi, Longi, thanks to its particular position, is of great naturalistic and scenic interest. southwest of the village is the Grotta del Lauro, which contains picturesque stalactites.
Of interest: medieval castle.
