Mazzarrone (Catania Province) is 79 km from Catania, alt, 285 m, on the southern slopes of Monti Erei, on the bank of the river Dirello or Acate, area 33.5 sq km, pop. over 3,500, post-code 95040, tel, 0933. Economy: agriculture, stock farming.
Once part of Caltagirone, it bacame an autonomous comune in 1976, absorbing territory belonging to Licodia Eubea.
