Mongiuffi Melia (Messina Province) is 51 m from Messina, alt. 421 m, in the southern Peloritani, on the two faces of the valley of the Pastolone torrent, area 24.29 sq km, pop. 942, post-code 98030, tel. 0942. Economy agriculture, stock-raising, silkworm cultivation.
The village originated from the combination of the hamlets of Mongiuffi di Melia, which formerly belonged to the town of Taormina.
In the 1643 they were acquired by G. Barile, of Messina and subsequently passed the the Oancrazio Corvaja and the Rao families.
