Placanica (Reggio Calabria Province) is an Italian town of 1,238 inhabitants.
The original settlement dates back to the twelfth century and stands on a hill between the Fiumara Precariti and stream Fiorello. It is 9km from the highway 106 and is located near the coast of the Ionian Sea, whose extensive beaches are popular with tourists during the summer months.
