Realmonte (Agrigento Province) is 18 km. from Agrigento, alt. 144 m., a short distance from the coast of the Strait of Sicily, area 20.41 sq. km., pop. over 4500, post-code 92010, tel. 0922. Economy: agriculture (cereals, almonds, grapes); concrete, tourism.

The town was possibly founded at the end of the 17th century. It was a fief of the Dukes of Castrofilippo in the 18th and 19th centuries.

On the road to Capo Rosello, is the archaelogical zone of the Roman Villa of Durrueli (1st century AD).
