Roccella Valdemone (Messina Province) is 91 km from Messina, alt. 812 m, in the western Nebrodi, at the foot of the Rocca Grande and in the valley of the Roccella torrent, area 41 sq km. Its population is just over 900, post-code 98030, tel. 0942. Agricultural economy.
A village probably existed here in Norman times. It is known that in 1256 Roccella Valdemone became a fief of the Spadafora family. A castle built in the Middle Ages strengthened its position as an unassailable strategic position. Today the castle no longer exists.
