Sabucina (
Caltanissetta Province) is a mountain about 8 km from
Caltanissetta, where finds from different ages have been made: First Bronze Age rock-cut chamber tombs, an indigenous village village of a slightly later age (12-10 centuries BC) another larger village (constructed after the destruction of the first) and them after Hellenization by
Agrigento, the acropolis and walls, a sanctuary, and further signs of repeated destructions and reconstructions.
Of interest: The Caltanissetta Regional Archaelogical Museum contains the richly interesting material from the excavations.
