San Salvatore di Fitalia (Messina Province) is 131 km from Messina, alt. 603 m, in the northern Nebrodi, between the Rivers Fitalia and Tortorici, area 14.9 sq km, pop. 1,905, post-code 98070, tel. 0941. Agricultural economy.
Its origins are probably Arabic; under the Normans it developed around the Basilian monastery of San Salvatore, built by Roger I.
