Santa Margherita di Belice (Agrigento Province) is 101 km. from Agrigento, alt. 400 m., on the hills between the Rivers Belice, Carboi and Senore, area 67.1 sq. km., pop. over 6700, post-code 92018, tel. 0925. Economy: agriculture (grapes, prickly pears, wheat); wine.

Founded in 1572 by Antonia Corbera on the site of the pre-existing Arabic hamlet of Menzil el-Sindi, it was devastated by the earthquake in 1968 and rebuilt in the same place.

Of interest are the Palazzo Filangeri (17th century) and Palazzata (18th century).
