Vallelunga Pratameno (
Caltanissetta Province) is 50 km from
Caltanissetta, atl. 472 m, on the left of the torrent Sallacio, ara 39.2 sq km, pop. 4.34, post-code 93010, tel. 0934. Agriculture economy: cereals, vegetables, almonds, olives, grapes.
A small town around an ancient storehouse already existed here in the 16th century, when it was a domain of the Notarbartolo family. The present town was founded in 1633 with licentia populandi. Its name Vallelunga Pratameno (Long Valley, Fair Meadow) is attractive and makes one curious to visit it.
Of interest: Oratorio del Signore (1795).
