Vita (Trapani Province) is 38 km from Trapani, alt. 480 m, on the southeast slopes of Monte San Giuseppe, area 8.9 sq km, pop. 2,707, post-code 91010, tel. 0924. Economy: Agriculture.
The town was founded in 1604 by Vito Sicomo on the site of a pre-existing medieval hamlet. It was damaged by the earthquake in 1968, after which part of the population moved to a new area a little further down valley.
